25th July: Dunkeswell JAG Rotax Festival

Alfie returned to Dunkeswell for a valuable practice day during Round 5 of the Super KX Championship, which also formed part of the JAG Rotax Festival weekend.

Although we were attending for practice rather than racing the full weekend, the day provided another important step in Alfie’s 2026 development programme. Running at Dunkeswell during a major Rotax weekend meant more time in the Inter Max kart, more experience around a busy paddock environment and another opportunity to continue building confidence, consistency and race craft.

The biggest positive from the day was the progress on track. When Alfie last drove at Dunkeswell on 31 May, his best lap was a 54.11. By the end of yesterday’s practice, he had reduced that to a 50.88, a significant improvement over the course of his return to the circuit.

The progress came steadily throughout the day. Alfie’s first session was a 53.7, and from there the lap times continued to fall as he took on board coaching and feedback from BKC Racing. Just as importantly, the improvement was not based on one single standout lap. His laps became more consistent too, showing that the coaching was being understood, applied and repeated on track.

Away from the kart, Alfie also had the chance to try the new eSIMs at Dunkeswell, taking a Formula 4 car around the Silverstone GP circuit. It added another fun and useful part to the day, linking back to the wider motorsport pathway and keeping the experience exciting beyond the track sessions.

Overall, it was a great day in the Devon sunshine: more seat time, better race craft, stronger lap times, useful coaching, time with team-mates and another step forward in Alfie’s development.
